ABOUT

Charlaine Robinson

MA, RCC #13582, CCC #10007416,
EMDRIA Approved Consultant

With over 30 years of experience in the human services field, I have helped many heal from trauma. I aim to hear and understand your unique needs and challenges. I strive to help you recover from emotional issues and feel confident and optimistic about your life. Traumatic experiences may cause symptoms that are hard to understand and manage. The symptoms may feel unbearable and debilitating. Therapy can help to reduce the symptoms and increase your capacity to cope.

My 35+ years of experience as the wife of a retired RCMP member and raising a family have enabled me to understand how the life of a police officer impacts members, spouses, and their families. I know how Operational Stress Injury (OSI) develops and its effect on you and the well-being of your loved ones. My training and experience inform my ability to guide you through your healing journey.

As an EMDR trauma therapist, I observe clients heal from childhood traumas, work trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and more. First Responders, their spouses, military and Coast Guard personnel, and others have expressed gratitude for the positive change they experienced through the well-researched approach – EMDR therapy. Mindfulness techniques, CPT, and CBT skills are used to support the healing process.

As you learn more about yourself and develop coping skills, you will feel more confident managing life’s challenges. I aim to help you to increase your awareness of your resilient traits and strengths. I will help you realize your true potential, empowering you to embrace your resilient qualities. My goal is for you to become self-assured and
navigate your life effectively.

My Approach:

The relationship between a counsellor and client is key to achieving positive therapeutic change. My mission is to support you through:

  • Life-enhancing, Holistic Therapy: Providing a comprehensive approach that addresses all aspects of your well-being.
  •  Client-centred, Strength-Based Approach: Empowering you to heal and equipping you with the tools to meet your challenges independently.
  •  Safe, Compassionate Environment: Ensuring your integrity and privacy is honoured throughout your healing journey.
