ABOUT

Charlaine Robinson

MA, RCC #13582, CCC #10007416,
EMDRIA Approved Consultant

With more than 30 years of experience in the human services field, I provide warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed counselling for adults seeking support with healing, recovery, and personal growth. My approach is collaborative and clientcentred, offering a safe and respectful space to work through trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and painful life experiences while building coping skills, confidence,
hope, and stability.

My 35+ years of lived experience as the spouse of a retired RCMP member, and raising a family within that context, have given me a personal understanding of the realities faced by police officers, first responders, spouses, and families. I understand the emotional impact of service, trauma exposure, shift work, family stress, Operational Stress Injury (OSI), and PTSD, and I bring both personal insight and professional experience to supporting clients and families through trauma recovery and the healing journey.

As an EMDR trauma therapist, I support clients healing from childhood trauma, workplace trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, eating disorders, and other painful or life-changing experiences. I work with first responders, RCMP and police families, military members, Coast Guard personnel, spouses, and individuals from many backgrounds, integrating EMDR therapy with mindfulness, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-based skills to create a personalized, practical, and supportive counselling approach.

My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and respected as we work together to strengthen resilience, deepen self-understanding, and reconnect with your sense of self, safety, and possibility. Whether you are looking for EMDR therapy, PTSD counselling, trauma counselling, support for OSI, anxiety counselling, depression counselling, or help with the lasting effects of difficult experiences, I offer caring, client-centred support to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and confident moving forward.

My Approach:

The relationship between a counsellor and client is key to achieving positive therapeutic change. My mission is to support you through:

  • Life-enhancing, Holistic Therapy: Providing a comprehensive approach that addresses all aspects of your well-being.
  •  Client-centred, Strength-Based Approach: Empowering you to heal and equipping you with the tools to meet your challenges independently.
  •  Safe, Compassionate Environment: Ensuring your integrity and privacy is honoured throughout your healing journey.
